2010: The amout of times I've done laundry so far this year!

Happy 2010!

So far, the year has been... well, a bit puke-filled, to be honest, but fine. We celebrated with my family at an early New Year's Eve dinner complete with a fake countdown, which the children loved, and then we went to our friend's New Year's Eve party and came home in time for my oldest son's first vomit episode of the year - literally, before 1 a.m. Yes, we rang in the new year and then moments later, my oldest son threw up! Not the best start to a new year, but it can only ger better, right?

New Year's Day we celebrated with our families again, and Christos was the 'lucky' one, as his piece of vasilopita (Greek New Year's cake) was the piece with the lucky coin in it! That means he'll be lucky all year long, according to tradition. Dimitry got the coin last year.

Dimitry also really, really enjoyed the cake...

Last night, Dimitry woke up and threw up. He's been sick on and off all day, and on top of this new stomach bug, he still has a double ear infection. Both boys are getting over their colds, and coughs. It has been seriously non-stop so far this winter - and I hope this is the last of it!

So far in 2010, I've done an insane amount of laundry. It's almost astonishing, the amount of sheets and clothes and pj's that have been washed in the last 48 hours! I'm also really tired, as my life has been totally hectic since about December 20th. I am looking forward to sitting on the beach soon, and enjoying the warm sun with my children.

I'm hopeful and excited for the year ahead. I wish for health and happiness for all my loved ones, and for all of you. I haven't really set any 'resolutions' for myself, because I often fail, but the one thing I hope to change about myself is to worry less. That's something that will probably be the hardest thing to change about me - harder than losing weight, harder than quitting smoking, even. So far in 2010, I've stayed true to not smoking, and to eating healthier. I still have to work on my patience, though!

What are your resolutions, if you have any?

Things can only get better! I hope everyone feels well again very soon. Congrats on not smoking, it's been 1.5 yrs for me and it's the hardest thing I've ever done. So I feel ya! Happy New Year!

Love the picture of Cristos at the restaurant!!

I've decided that I wanted to make goals to reach this year over resolutions! Check out my blog

I hope you all feel better soon, and I'm sure the hot sun and warm sand on the beach will help that along!!

He is too adorable!

Ick! Laundry is the worst, because the more you do, the more there is. I sometimes feel like an nudity strike for everyone who doesn't do laundry around here. Since I am the only one who does it, i guess everyone else is out of luck.
My resolution? I am not sure!

I hope everything gets better before your vacay but if not I swear by the sun! The sun and salt water always cure any cold or bug my kids (or me) have. Good luck!

So sorry to hear about all the sickness. Ugh, I hate winter for all the infections and colds. It will be over soon. And I too am literally drowning in piles of laundry that I never seem to be able to get to the bottom of. Love all the pictures! You look lovely as always and the boys are adorable.

Sorry things have been so yucky for you (literally). Get some rest and remember to take care of yourself too. I hope the New Year brings great things, and much joy! And I know you'll love the beach next week!

Oh no! I hope the boys are better soon. It's been non-stop sick here too since early December, and we've only been feeling well for just under a week. So, yeah, I know how awful it must be for you. The light (of the sun on the beach!) at the end of the tunnel is so close. Hang in there, my dear.

Congrats on the continuation of not smoking (I knew you could do it!) and healthy eating. I have to work on the healthy eating stuff myself. I'm doing my resolutions post right now... I need goals and a plan, or else I'll just be a couch potato. lol

As always, I love your pictures! So fabulous and adorable. :)

I should knock on wood before saying this, but we've been lucky that there haven't been any stomach problems around here. We've had our share of coughs, ear and sinus infections and general ickiness, but no puke. I'm sure I've just jinxed myself.

Plenty of laundry though. :)

Here's to good health to you and yours this year!!

Congrats on healthy eating and no smoking - sounds awesome!

Ugh, I am so sorry about you sick kids. As you said, I am sure that things will only get better from here in 2010.

I have loads of resolutions this year...not sure why I decided to be so ambitious. The one I think that will be most difficult is flossing everyday.

Happy 2010 to you! Sorry to hear about the boys. Hope they feel better soon! I can only imagine the laundry hell you're in right now.

Your poor kids - they've had a rough winter - have you had the ear infections treated with anything? I am wondering if the ear infection might be causing some dizziness that would cause nausea and vomiting. Just a thought. I'm a nurse - hence me asking.

I hope everyone feels better soon and let me know if there is anything I can do to help.

Blah - you guys too huh...well, we don't have the pukes, but the insane amount of boogies around here are just as bad :( Hope your little loves are feeling better today...to a healthier 2010! xo

Proud as heck of ya for giving up the smokes lady - yipeee!

I love the montage of pics! And I really, really love your white top! Where'd you get that? Sooo cute!

Sorry you've been knee deep in sick kids. Anthony and I have both been sicker than dogs for over a week, too. Sucks!

I can so relate to the laundry dilemma. We had "puke-fest 2003" when my twins turned 1. Absolutely the worst January ever. Good luck. Congrats on your boys getting the coins too.

Oh Loukia, I sure hope the sickies are ready to leave your place. Not a fun way to start the year. And I do hope that your beach time is nice and warm, may parents were on their way to Miami, but a cold front moved in and it was {gasp} 0C in Savannah Georgia and Miami was expecting the same, so they turned around and headed home. Saving their time away for when Florida isn't having a freezing spell.

We are all super sick around here too, so I haven't even had the energy to make any resolutions yet!

I hope that your boys are feeling better now... there is nothing worse. Poor guy!! That sounds awful... maybe finding the coin will also keep them healthy all year long :)

Happy New Year, Loukia! I really appreciate all of your wonderful comments on my blog.. and for reading it at all. I look forward to more LouLou's Views in 2010! xo
